Miami, FL – October 14, 2008 – Florida Film Institute’s (FFI) “Crafting Scenes… Creating Actions” intensive scriptwriting workshop is now open to all aspiring scriptwriters, producers, directors, novelists, playwrights, actors and college students. The four-sessions will be held November 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm at Space 4004 located at 4004 NW 2nd Avenue in Miami.

The workshop will feature instruction by Script Guru Alyn Darnay, author of “The Script…A Breakthrough Guide To Scriptwriting” and winner of 15 outstanding awards of excellence for writing. The instruction is designed to enhance each participant’s ability to develop a script, while improving their skill to create multi-layered characters, expressive and dynamic dialogue, and imaginary plot twists and turns.

“Alyn makes scriptwriting so easy to understand you can pick up all the essentials you need to develop and execute a superior marketable script by attending this 4-night workshop,” said Stephanie Martino-Rizzi, Founder and President of FFI.

The workshops are not just a series of lectures, but rather interactive participant activity that takes on a life of its own through the group dynamic. The workshop requires participants to present their writing and then write alternative select scenes based upon knowledge gained from the instruction. Past participants of the workshop series have won major film festival awards for their scripts and have had their screenplays produced.

Registration is available online at www.flfilminstitute.org and will end on October 31, 2008. The cost for the workshops is $100 (limited to 35 script writers). In addition, FFI will offer two scholarships to eligible participants. Contact FFI’s office at (305) 891-3456 by October 25, 2008 to apply for eligibility.
