Mark Your Child’s Calendar, FFI’s Free Film School Begins This Saturday Morning . . .

The FFI, in conjunction with the Miami Children’s Museum, has been running its Film School at the Museum for the past 11 years. This exciting and challenging filmmaking program is FREE to students from middle through high school and always attracts great creative young minds from all over South Florida.

Beginning this Saturday, October 7th, at 10:30 AM, the 11th edition of our Film School runs for 12 sessions at the conclusion of which the students will work as a team to produce a five to ten minute short film.

Your Child Must Attend the Oct 7th workshop audition to be considered for entry into the program.

The Film Class begins Saturday, with the Guest Appearance Of Sherry Faith, renowned Actress, Model and Acting Coach. Ms Faith, who teaches her on-going “Masters Class Acting Workshop Series” at Greenwich Film Studios and her ever popular Kidzz-On-Camera Series in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Ms Faith has studied under the 3 greatest scholars of our time (Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and Sanford Meisner) from the renowned Actor’s Studio. She has had a long and successful career in Movies, Modeling, Television and Theatre.

For the 6th year in a row she will bring her unique style and excitement to the opening class and we are honored to have her participation.

“It’s hard not to involve yourself in the excitement that the children generate in these classes,” said Sherry. “They just get so engaged when they find out what they are about to learn and participate in, that it’s just a joy to part of it. This is a wonderful opportunity for any Child who has an interest in the Film Industry”

Each workshop will feature a highly experienced working professional who will provide an in-depth look at one of the following topics: script writing, location shooting, cinematography, acting on screen, lighting, directing, editing, sound, wardrobe, makeup and marketing. In addition to the aesthetic and technical basics of the discipline, the workshops address the business environment of the motion picture industry in order to realistically prepare the students for a career.

So Mark Your Child’s Calendar!

Film School XI Begins: Saturday, October 7, 2006 – February 2007 for 12 Saturdays (12 workshops), 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Once again, Your Child Must Attend the Oct 7th workshop audition to be considered for entry into the program.
