FFI’s Cinematographers in Education and Media Arts (CINEMA) enriches the educational experience for young adults by providing a hands-on learning experience that teaches the art, business and science of filmmaking.

Entering the 30th year of producing award-winning programs, FFI works with selected students countywide with the encouragement to spark an interest in the field of Media Arts. High school teens have an opportunity to explore the creative process of cinema and television through a detailed sequence of activities which culminate in the production of their own music video and short film projects. Synonymous with arts appreciation, self-esteem enhancement and increased job knowledge/skills, FFI is a highly innovative program proven to positively influence the development of the local, creative youth.

FFI has worked in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), offering our CINEMA program to students in Miami-Dade County. In addition to the schools, CINEMA has also been offered at the Miami Children’s Museum, Miami Job Corps, AGAPE Family Services, Little Haiti Cultural Center, City of Miami Mayor’s Heart of the Parks, Museum of Contemporary Art MOCA, Coral Gables Art Cinema and some schools in Broward County.
