Fall is here and we are off and running with our CINEMA programs! By the
end of September/mid - October the CINEMA program opened in South Dade,
Miami Beach and North Miami SHS! In addition, FFI is planning on producing a
filmmaking program geared for adults! Stay tuned for much more info, we will
keep all of you updated! In the meantime, please stay connected to us via
our Facebook page and website. FFI had a very busy summer producing our film
camp! We truly enjoyed working with such creative and inspiring filmmakers!
All of the students collaborated so nicely together and are currently
working on editing their short film project.
Our summer film camp project "Frauds" is currently finished by the student
editing team. The final cut is almost ready and the premiere will take place
in June at FFI's Annual Film Screenings.
A sarcastic teenager, otherwise known as Danny, is dragged into the typical
teenage party. A party filled with stupidity, unnecessary drama, and, to put
it lightly, complete and utter chaos. Danny tries his hardest to deal with
his friends' "problems", until his mind eventually drifts off into his own
little fantasy, only to be brought back to the dreaded reality. His
seemingly futile effort to find his girlfriend Layla among the party goers
is the only reason why he doesn't just get up and leave. With a dramatic
ending and a ridiculous amount of accused cheating, this parody of a teenage
movie is the look into the life of an average teenager that is full of
comedy and drama.

I want to send a special thanks to the wonderful organizations that provide
us with the funding we need to operate, they are the real heart of our
Institute, with their help we are able to create an increased educational
awareness in hundreds of students a year, many of whom would never get the
kind of life altering experience that our programs bring to them.

We want to hear from you! Please check out FFI's Facebook Page and stay updated with what is new and upcoming with our award winning film programs. But also, while you are there we encourage you to start posting some of your own thoughts and ideas about filmmaking- perhaps, what is your favorite film and why? or what programs you would like FFI to consider producing in the future? It would be great to get a dialogue going between our FB page and our many fans!
You can now view the wonderful films made by our students online anytime you want. As a matter of fact we encourage it. The films are actually an ongoing anthology of the attitudes of the young people who make them, acting as a mirror of their environment, concerns and problems. Every film is compelling in its own way and some have won awards at film festivals across the country.
