Florida Film Institute (FFI) in partnership with the Miami Beach Cinemateque is pleased to announce its award winning comprehensive film workshop "CINERAMA Saturdays." The FREE 20-week program begins Saturday, October 11, 2014 and runs through March 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshops will be held at Miami Beach Cinematheque located at 1130 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139. All teens between the ages 13-18 are invited to attend the open auditions on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 10am to 12:30pm @ MBC. Registration is required prior to the audition date.

Audition participants must come prepared with a sample of their creative work for the panel to view. This may include art work, a short poem / film and singing or dancing. Registration deadline is October 3, 2014 for the program audition and is available online at www.flfilminstitute.org.

"CINERAMA Saturdays" will feature an introduction into film producing and screenwriting. The program also incorporates production sessions that will include auditioning, assigning crew, camera positioning and sound/lighting. As part of the 20 week workshops participants will have the opportunity to shoot a short film and present it at a screening scheduled in May 2015. Instruction for the workshops will be provided by local film industry professionals. Participants who are selected for the program will pay a $100 registration fee to cover the cost of filming day meals and supplies/materials for the workshops.

"We are very excited to bring back this series of filmmaking workshops for teens in the South Florida community," said Stephanie Martino, Founder and President of FFI.

"The Miami Beach Cinematheque is happy to partner with FFI in providing a space where students can learn the craft of filmmaking from pre-production all the way through the important step of marketing." says Dana Keith, Founder and Director of MBC.
