The Florida Film Institute

The Florida Film Institute in partnership with the Coral Gables Art Cinema
would like to invite you to the 2011-2012 CINEMA Program awards and screenings
on Saturday, June 2nd from 10:00am - 1:00pm at The Coral Gables Arts Cinema.

We are excited to announce that this is the first year all eight films have been screened and judged by industry professionals. Awards will be given in the following categories: Directing, Cinematography, Screenwriting, Lighting, Sound and Editing.

This is a great opportunity for the student filmmakers and the public to see the films that were created through FFI's award-winning film program.

The six schools that we will be showcasing are John Ferguson Senior High School, Coral Gables Senior High School, North Miami Beach Senior High School, Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School, Southwest Senior High School and Miami Senior High School. In addition, we will be premiering the films created by the participants in our 2011 summer film camp as well as our Saturday CINERAMA program.

As she documents the scientific happenings of the mysterious night crawlers, her truth is found.

All Adam wanted to do was impress a girl with a school prank. But like usual the prank went wrong. The school was in ruins, the students sick and the principal wanted answers. Does the prankster get caught? Does he get the girl?

Mystery plagues a high school when a boy falls into trouble after accidentally taking someone else's bag. Determined to uncover a conspiracy plot lead by the teachers and staff, he discovers things are about to get worse.

THE VAULT

Southwest SHS

The vault is the classic tale of redemption for detective Funkhouser. After tremendously failing a previous case, he must now redeem his reputation or leave the scene.

THE TIME IS NOW

Miami High

Randy wants to land the girl of his dreams but he doesn't have a really good history with approaching girls. He has a very embarrassing best friend and his dream girl's boyfriend is the school star basketball player. Randy's self esteem suffers as a result of feeling inadequate among his peers. This is his story about finding true love but also finding out a lot about himself in the process.

THE PURR

Mickey and Jesse are business rivals in the competitive world of music entertainment. But Mickey has an ace up his sleeve and her name is Cleo, a singer with the voice of an angel. Mickey names his club, The Purr, after her because everyone says her voice "purrs" with emotion. Jesse, however, comes with an offer Cleo may not be able to resist. What will happen to Mickey and The Purr if Cleo leaves? That answer emerges from a much unexpected source.
