Summer Film Camp, Registration is Now Open!

Florida Film Institute (FFI) is excited to announce a summer partnership for the sixth year with the Coral Gables Cinemateque (CGC). CINEMA, a film education summer camp will be held at the CGC's Coral Gables Art Cinema, located at 260 Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables, from June 13 to July 21, 2016. Up to 25 high school students ages 13 to 18 are invited to attend the workshops that meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. There will be three field trips which will take place during the camp sessions (on selected Thursdays). FFI will give students the opportunity to focus on essential and practical aspects of commercial motion picture production, including script preparation, cinematography, lighting, sound recording, directing, acting and music. The program will feature instruction by South Florida Film Industry professionals.

Registration is available online at www.flfilminstitute.org and will end on June 8, 2016. The total camp fee for six weeks is available at a reduced rate of $695.00 plus a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee is required. FFI is able to offer this discounted fee to each participant because of the generosity of our sponsors. This year we are able to offer 6 full scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. In order to apply for the scholarship you will need to call the office before May 16, 2016. Requirements: Copy of the student's current report card, a letter from the parent outlining the financial need or proof of school / participant in a Lunch Assistant Program. All applicants will be notified by June 6, 2016 if they have been granted a scholarship for the program. Scholarships are available for Miami-Dade County residents only.
