The Florida Film Institute
Lights, Camera, Film . . . SUMMER CAMP!
Summer Film Camp, Registration is now Open!
Florida Film Institute (FFI) is excited to announce a summer partnership with the Coral Gables Cinemateque (CGC). Summer Film Camp begins on June 16 and runs through July 24, 2014. The camp will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00am to 1:00pm. There will be three field trips which will take place during the camp sessions (on Thursdays). FFI will give 25 high school students ages 13 to 18 the opportunity to focus on essential and practical aspects of commercial motion picture production, including script preparation, cinematography, lighting, sound recording, directing, editing, acting and music. The program will feature instruction by South Florida Film Industry professionals. At the end of the session participants will showcase their short film project at the theatre. The camp will be held at the Coral Gables Art Cinema, located at 260 Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables. The total camp fee is available at a reduced rate of $595.00. FFI is able to offer this discounted fee to each participant because of the generosity of our sponsors. If not for their help the regular fee would be $1,660 per student. This year we are able to offer 3 full scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. In order to apply for the scholarship you will need to send us the following information by May 30, 2014.
Letter from the parent outlining the financial need
Copy of the current first page of the 1040 tax return (please black out your SS#)
Copy of the latest report card of the student
Once FFI has reviewed the documents a phone interview will be set up with the student. All applicants will be notified by June 4, 2014 if they have been granted a scholarship for the program. For more information or to Register on line visit www.flfilminstitute.org.
